Home Learning

Why Home Learning Matters

Research by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) highlights that regular, well-structured home learning makes a genuine difference, adding an average of +5 to +6 months of academic progress - particularly when digital tools are involved. Rather than assigning large volumes of work, research shows that learning at home is most effective when tasks are short, focused, and directly connected to what students are learning in the classroom. When home learning has a clear purpose and is backed by quality teacher feedback, it provides a powerful boost to your child’s confidence and progress. Furthermore, home learning enables students to develop good habits: independence, responsibility, organisation and commitment.

Read / Watch / Listen (extend and enrich): These suggestions have been chosen to further extend learning beyond the classroom, cultivate a lasting love of learning, and engage and inspire your child's curiosity.
